WTM started as a practical answer to the same problem most growing teams hit: clients in one tool, projects in another, invoices in a third, and no single place that shows the whole picture.
Most tools that solve this problem ask you to hand your business data to someone else's server and pay per seat, forever, for the privilege. WTM takes the other approach: it's released under the AGPL-3.0 license, meant to be self-hosted on infrastructure you control, with no per-seat pricing and no account required to run it.
That also means no black box - the source is open, the deployment is scripted end to end, and the stack underneath (Next.js, TypeScript, SQLite) is conventional enough that a team can actually read and extend it, not just configure it.
